On the third week of August 2012, it was the worst
summer in Somalia. It was very hot season. There was a family, named King Kong Family. The King Kong’s
Family consists of 4 members.
The father’s name is Buddy and the mother’s
name is Shasta. They have 2 children, names Johnny and Emily.
Buddy
works as a wood seller. Everyday, he looks for woods in the forest. If there is
no wood, King Kong family will not eat because they don’t have any money.
Emily’s mom is a housewife. Everyday, she cleans her house with Emily. Emily
and Johnny was a student who studying in 6th Grade. They want to
continue their education to 7th Grade, but their parents don’t have
any money to pay.
One day there is a terrible summer in
that country. All of the crops in that country died because of the heat. King
Kong family and the other family don’t have food to eat. Buddy went to the
forest to find woods everyday. He will sell the wood to other sellers and he
will get the money. The more days they spend, the poorer they get, so Buddy and
Emily decided to stop schooling their children. One day, they went to the
forest together. They were hunting in the forest. They found 4 fishes there, so
each one of them get 1 fish. All of their stomachs were full of food, but they
started to starve again next week. Emily and Johnny are so thin because they
didn’t eat anything for 1 week. One day, there was a rich man who was the
richest man in Somalia, names Justin. Justin felt so pity for King Kong family,
especially with Johnny and Emily because there were so thin. But, Justin didn’t
want to give them anything. They were so disappointed with that rich man.
On Tuesday, Buddy died because of the
starvation. Johnny, Emily, and their mom were so sad when they realized that
Buddy was dead. On Wednesday, they were looked for wood, suddenly they saw gold
in the dirt. They were so happy about it. They bought a new house to live. They
were so rich, but along with their richness they become lazy and it’s become a
habit that they didn’t do anything for their life. Suddenly, something bad happened
on the next week. There was stranger who came in to their house and stole all
of the gold. They didn’t have anything left in their house. All of it was
stolen by the robbery. They sold their house to buy foods. 2 weeks later, they
spent all of the money for buy foods. They slept besides the road for 3 weeks.
Every night they can’t sleep because of noisy sound on the road, such as cars,
motorcycle, road workers, etc. Finally, they died because of starvation.
We can help them by giving foods or
something that they need. We can donate our bloods for someone who was sick and
we can pray for them, so they can survive with no food and money. We can send
some of our money, usually there is a program that we can send some of our
money, and then they will send the money to the other person who needed. We can
find the advertisements of the program besides the road or on television.
